Cloth napkins once felt to me like they were only for fancy dinner parties and restaurants. So incorporating them into my life actually made meals even more fun! They’re now added to the small arsenal of mealtime accoutrement I have hiding in my backpack (along with my zip-pouch of travel utensils).
Morning bagels get wrapped, while still warm, in a cloth napkin. Lunch time at work feels fancier and more substantial with a cloth napkin draped across my lap. Paper napkins feel super flimsy now – making them even easier to turn away when I’m out picking up lunch. Yes, paper napkins are a fairly inexpensive item – but why use single-use paper when you can have a much better experience with cloth?! Plus, they are easy to toss in the wash with the rest of your clothes and don’t take up too much extra space in the house.
These are a fairly low-budget swap (if you’re handy with a sewing machine, you can even make your own!) – and you shouldn’t have to replace your cloth napkins for a very long time. … Though you may just carried away with all the patterns and choices out there! I’m always in love with the adorable choices from Oh, Little Rabbit.
